Membership
The FPTH connects different professional groups in the sense of a federation. We look forward to your membership.
The “Foederatio Phytotherapica Helvetica – FPTH” has no fear of contact with various and differently interested professional groups — quite the opposite: in the spirit of a federation it sets itself the wonderful task of connecting and complementing interested parties and stakeholders.
Only in this way can we fully meet the great challenges of today's society, the ever stricter legislation and the high and justified demands of our patients. Only interdisciplinary cooperation, knowledge on different levels, tolerance towards other views and ways of life, and respect for human weaknesses and strengths can lead us into a healthy and harmonious future. This is why the FPTH lives the philosophy of community, partnership and “togetherness” — only in this way are we strong and equipped for the tasks that society and life set us.
We welcome you as a physician, pharmacist, naturopath, druggist, researcher, natural scientist, politician, lawyer, producer, manufacturer, marketing-authorisation holder, legislator, research institute, education provider, professional association, student and, of course, simply as an interested party and supporter. In the very sense of the word we welcome you as a federation of many ideas, of comprehensive knowledge, of enormous professional competence — with one and the same vision: the love of nature, of medicinal plants, of botany, of herbal medicines, of their teaching, research, protection and care, and of their respectful, competent, comprehensive and holistic application to the patient.
Membership Categories
Active members
Holders of a cantonal training with professional license, a federal professional degree at tertiary level, or a federal/foreign academic degree in orthodox, holistic, complementary, integrative or alternative medicine or scientific research, who have also completed studies in phytotherapy, phytopharmacy, ethnobotany, ethnopharmacy, ethnomedicine or an equivalent associated course.
Passive members
Those who support and pursue the tasks, goals and interests of the FPTH morally, actively or financially — in scientific research and in orthodox, holistic, complementary-integrative or alternative medicine.
Honorary members
Those who, on the recommendation of the Board, have been declared worthy of and appointed to this honorary and/or exemplary distinction. They are exempt from an annual fee.

Annual Membership Fees
The “Foederatio Phytotherapica Helvetica – FPTH” is financed by membership fees, income from education and training, manifestations and congresses, services, private and public donations, as well as public subsidies.
The active and passive members pay an annual membership fee according to the solidarity idea below.

Passive members
The contribution is free and/or to be paid individually. We hope and trust in a generous, solidary spirit in the sense, for the benefit and the protection of the aims and purposes of the FPTH, thus of phytotherapy and of the worldwide diversity of medicines.
Honorary members
Are exempt from an annual contribution obligation. Honorary members already make their personal and important contribution in their honorable and/or exemplary manner.
